No me fiaría ciegamente. Contacten y pregunten bien. No soy experto en esto, pero si necesitas que todo sea completamente accesible, llama directamente al hotel y asegúrate que todo corresponda a tus necesidades. No vaya a ser que luego haya drama.
- Internet & Conexión al Mundo (¡y al Instagram!): ¡WiFi GRATIS en todas las habitaciones! ¡Punto para GlenCove! Además, entiendo que hay Internet access – LAN por si eres un nerd de la conexión por cable (¡como yo, a veces!). El WiFi in public areas es un gran plus, especialmente para los que no pueden vivir desconectados (como, eh, yo).
- Limpieza y Seguridad (¡Imprescindible!): En estos tiempos, la limpieza es crucial. Veamos: Anti-viral cleaning products, Daily disinfection in common areas, Hand sanitizer, Individually-wrapped food options, Rooms sanitized between stays, y Staff trained in safety protocol. ¡Suena bien! Pero, y aquí viene mi lado paranoico… ¿Room sanitization opt-out available? ¡Espero que no tenga nadie la opción de NO limpiar! Y CCTV in common areas, CCTV outside property, Front desk [24-hour], Security [24-hour],… ¡ufff, me siento (casi) seguro! (Hay que añadir un poco de emoción).

¡Ahora, lo Divertido: El Relax y la Diversión!
- ¡El Spa! (Y sus Misterios): Body wrap, Foot bath, Massage, Sauna, Spa, Spa/sauna, Steamroom… ¡Guau! Suena a paraíso. Pero, ¿realmente es TODO lo que te imaginas? A veces, la realidad no siempre se corresponde con la fantasía: Las batas no siempre son esponjosas, el personal a veces no es 100% profesional, y la sauna… bueno, a veces huele un poco a humedad (y el sudor de los que ya la usaron). ¡Pero! Un buen masaje después de un día de playa… ¡eso sí es gloria!
- La Piscina con Vistas… ¿O Sin Vistas?: Swimming pool, Swimming pool [outdoor], Pool with view. ¡Clave! Una piscina, ooooohhhh, y si es con vistas, ¡doble puntuación! ¿Pero, son vistas de verdad? ¿O a la calle, a la pared del edificio de al lado? ¡Investiga! ¡Pregunta! Si te venden "vistas infinitas", ¡asegúrate de que sea verdad, no una vista aburrida!

Day 1: Arrival / Primer día: Llegada (Chaos Unleashed)
Getting There…Is Half the Battle (and a Sweat Fest). Flight. Ugh, the flight. And more ugh, the passport control. The one time I actually try to look put-together, the immigration officer gives me a suspicious side-eye and asks about my 'extended stay.' I'm practically begging him with my eyes, "Please, let me get to that sea view ASAP!"
Taxi Tantrums and Triumph. Getting to the Villa. Getting a taxi, negotiating the price (because, let's be honest, I'm terrible at haggling, and they always see me coming). When the taxi pulls up to the villa, I do that little joyful dance.
Villa Revelation (and Mild Panic). Arriving at GlenCove. Sunrise View, eh? Let's hope it's not a "Sunrise Obscured by Tree" view. We stumble in, sweat-drenched and smelling faintly of airplane peanuts. THE VIEW. Oh my god. Actually, let me just pause here for a moment. Sunrise. Spectacular. Sea. Breath-taking. Did I check the WiFi password? Where is the WiFi password? This might be the best villa ever I've found so far.
Unpacking (or the Art of the Clothes Explosion). Unpack. I always overpack. Like a pro. The suitcase explodes, creating a mountain of clothes. And that's before the other person's suitcase which is even worse.
First Swim/Primera Natación (or, The Water is Cold, I Love It!). The pool. Dive in. The water is perfect. This moment, my friends…this is why we travel. Followed by immediately wishing I'd applied extra sunscreen. The water is cold, and I instantly felt refreshed. Amazing.
Sunset Beers and Questionable Snacks. We sit on the balcony, the air warm and salty. I crack open the local beer (TIGER, let's go!), and toast to life, good friends, and the fact that I (mostly) remembered to pack my sunhat. I open up the bag of snacks - and I see one of the snacks have expired three months ago. I think I'll pass on those.
Dinner Disaster (Mostly Delicious, though). Someone, definitely not me, volunteered to cook dinner. We're not sure if we even know how to use the stove, but miraculously, we manage to create a passable pasta. We celebrate, laughing so hard we almost choke.
Day 2: Island Hopping / Día 2: Paseo Por la Isla (Boat Life…and Sea Sickness?)
Wake Up in Paradise- or at Least, a Very Nice Place. Wake up. The Sunrise View lives up to its name (hallelujah!). Coffee, on the balcony. Pure bliss. Until the mosquitoes discover me.
Boat Trip! (Yay…?). Island hopping tour! Hired a boat. It's a little cramped and a bit smelly, but hey, the promise of pristine beaches is strong! (Note: I hate boats. I often get seasick. I'm not sure why I do this to myself).
Snorkelling (and Regret). Snorkelling time. The water's clear, and the fish are pretty. But, as usual, I struggle to clear my snorkel. And I think I swallowed half the ocean. I think the fish were laughing at me.
Beach Bliss (and Sunburn). After a solid hour of boat time, we hit the beach. Fine sand, turquoise water. I swear, my skin is starting to feel like lobster.
Seafood Feast (and Stomach Concerns). Lunch at a beachside restaurant. Fresh seafood. Grilled fish, prawns, the works! It's delicious. Delicious. Then, several hours later, I started to get stomach ache and start fearing the food poisoning.
Sunset Drinks & Disillusionment. Back to the villa, tired and slightly sunburned. Sunset is even better than last night. We drink more beer and realize the sheer beauty of it all. We may never go home.
WiFi Woes (The Eternal Struggle). The WiFi. Oh, the WiFi. It's spotty. Keeps dropping out. The villa is a dream but the WiFi is… well, it's a work in progress. Seriously though, if anyone sees this, can you please fix the WiFi?
Day 3: Relaxation / Día 3: Relajación (Or, The Art of Doing Absolutely Nothing)
Sleep, glorious sleep. Laze around. I sleep in until midday.
Reading on the Balcony, interrupted by… everything. Find a good book. Try to read on the balcony. Get distracted by the view. Get interrupted by the cat who insists on rubbing against my legs (which, to be fair, is quite lovely).
Pool time (again). Pool time. Floating. Thinking. Not thinking. Just… being.
Local Delights. We decide to seek out some local food for lunch. We found a street food stall. One of the best meals of my life, but the language barrier… let's just say I think I ended up with something slightly more spicy than I intended. Worth it, though.
Sunset Stroll (and Mosquito Bites). Sunset stroll along the beach (more mosquito bites, naturally). I swear, the mosquitoes in Malaysia have a personal vendetta against me.
Karaoke Night (and My Shame). One of us, someone found a karaoke bar. We sing badly. We laugh uncontrollably. I belt out a power ballad. I will never, ever speak about this again.
Day 4: Exploring / Día 4: Explorando (Adventures and Misadventures)
- Day Trip Dreams: Tempted to explore the local towns. It’s all so close. But it's also so tempting to stay in the villa and sleep all day.
- Cooking Class Catastrophe One of us, again, someone thought it’d be fun to take a local cooking class. It wasn't fun. It was a disaster.
- Beach Day Repeat (but with more sunscreen this time!): We just go back to the beach. It’s glorious. I remember to apply more sunscreen this time.
Day 5: Departure / Día 5: Salida (The Sad Goodbye, but a promise to Return)
- Last Sunrise (and a Tear or Two). The last sunrise. It's even more beautiful than the first. I take a moment to appreciate everything.
- Packing Panic (again). Packing. Back to the clothes explosion. I cannot be the only one.
- Quick Dip (and a Final Moment of Peace). One last swim in the pool. So tranquil. So perfect.
- Breakfast of Champions (and Regret that we didn’t do more). A final, delicious breakfast. We're already planning our return to Malaysia.
- Farewell, GlenCove! Driving to the airport, knowing that I will miss it all.

¡La comida! ¡Mi otra gran preocupación! A ver, en la villa tienes cocina. Puedes comprar comida en el supermercado y cocinarte tus cositas. Pero... ¿quién quiere cocinar en vacaciones? ¡Yo no! Hay algunos restaurantes cerca, pero no esperes alta cocina, ¿eh? Son más bien sitios locales, con comida malaya... rica, sí, pero a veces un poco picante para mi gusto. Un día pedí un plato que me dijeron "suave"... ¡y me ardía la boca! Y otro día... ¡encontré un pelo en la sopa! *¡Horror!* Pero bueno, tampoco estaba tan mal. El pescado fresco era delicioso.
