Y Mabolo Royal… ¡Oh my, Mabolo Royal!

  • Bares: ¡El poolside bar!

Seguridad y Limpieza: ¡Todo Impecable!

¡Ojo! Anti-viral cleaning products, Daily disinfection in common areas, Rooms sanitized between stays, Sanitized kitchen and tableware items … ¡todo! Se nota el esfuerzo. Te sientes seguro. Además, el staff trained in safety protocol y la Doctor/nurse on call, un plus. Y, por supuesto, Hand sanitizer por todas partes.

  • Aspectos Post-Covid: Physical distancing of at least 1 meter, Individually-wrapped food options, Room sanitization opt-out available, Safe dining setup. Realmente valoran tu salud.

Habitaciones: ¡Tu Propio Oasis!

¡Aquí es donde la magia se materializa! Mi habitación era… ¡un sueño! A ver, Air conditioning, ¡obvio! Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! ¡Amén! Bathrobes, ¡sí! Bathtub, ¡siiiiii! Blackout curtains (¡indispensables para la siesta!). Coffee/tea maker (¡vital!). In-room safe box. Mini bar. Reading light. Refrigerator. Satellite/cable channels. Seating area. Separate shower/bathtub. Slippers. Smoke detector. Sofa. Soundproofing. Telephone. Toiletries. Towels, Umbrella, Wake-up service.

Y, ¡importante! Smoking area si eres fumador.

Servicios y Facilidades: Una Auténtica Experiencia

Mabolo Royal lo tiene todo. Concierge (¡para cualquier cosa!). Daily housekeeping. Dry cleaning. Elevator. Facilities for disabled guests. Food delivery. Gift/souvenir shop. Laundry service. Luggage storage. Safety deposit boxes. Lo que digo: un paraíso.

  • Para los negocios: Business facilities, Meeting/banquet facilities, Meetings, Meeting stationery, Audio-visual equipment for special events, Indoor venue for special events, Outdoor venue for special events, Projector/LED display, Wi-Fi for special events, Xerox/fax in business center… Si no quieres perder tiempo, aquí no lo perderás.

Para los Niños (y los No Tan Niños)

Mabolo Royal es muy Family/child friendly. Tienen Kids facilities, y hasta Babysitting service. Pensé, ¡qué bien para los padres!

Otros Detalles (¡Que No se Escapan!)

  • Check-in/out [express] y Check-in/out [private]. ¡Todo agilizado!
  • ¡Air conditioning in public area (¡para no desmayarte de calor!)!
  • Cash withdrawal. ¡Por si acaso!
  • Cashless payment service. ¡Comodísimo!
  • Car park [free of charge] y Valet parking. ¡Un alivio!
  • ¡Proposal spot para los románticos!
  • Shrine para los espirituales.
  • Smoke alarms y Fire extinguisher.

Mabolo Royal Rhapsody: A Filipino Fiasco with a Touch of Glamour (Maybe)

Alright, buckle up, buttercups! Because this isn't your polished, perfectly-planned itinerary. This is real – the Mabolo Royal experience, warts and all. And trust me, there will be warts.

Day 1: Arrival & The Great Luggage Lament

  • 14:00 - Arrival at Mactan-Cebu International Airport: Okay, so I thought I was being slick, booking a flight that landed right on time. HA! Apparently, "Filipino time" is a real thing. Sat there for a good hour, stewing in my own sweat, waiting for the luggage. And when it finally came? My suitcase looked like it had been through a war. Scratches, dents, you name it. Classic start.
  • 15:30 - Mabolo Royal Hotel Check-in: Finally, freedom! The hotel lobby is… well, it's grand. Marble floors, chandeliers, the whole nine yards. Feels a bit much, to be honest. Like, am I too casual for this place? The receptionist was lovely, bless her heart – so patient with my jet lag-induced clumsiness.
  • 16:00 - The Room Reveal: Okay, the room is… impressive. Big bed, HUGE TV, and a view of… another building. But hey, who am I to complain? The aircon is blasting, which is a win.
  • 17:00 - Poolside Panic (and Pizza Pilgrimage): Time to relax! Or so I thought. The pool is gorgeous, but I forgot my swimsuit. Cue the frantic rummaging in the battered suitcase, only to discover… it's missing! Panic mode initiated. Ended up wearing my hotel bathrobe (fashion icon, right?) and just lurking on the edge, feeling awkward. The saving grace? They had a pizza place nearby that delivered. A cheesy, greasy, glorious slice of heaven.
  • 19:00 - Dinner at the Hotel Restaurant (Attempt 1): The restaurant! Oh, the restaurant. The menu looked promising, full of Filipino classics. I ordered… something. I can't even remember what it was, but it was spicy. Like, burn-your-face-off spicy. I think I shed a tear or two.
  • 20:30 - Retreat & Netflix Therapy: Back in the room, defeated but full. Netflix and a giant bottle of water. Jet lag is a beast.

Day 2: Island Hopping & Inner Turmoil

  • 08:00 - Breakfast Buffet Bonanza: The buffet is… overwhelming. So many options! I somehow managed to fill my plate with a questionable mix of fruit, fried rice, and something that looked suspiciously like Spam. No regrets.
  • 09:00 - Island Hopping Tour (Supposed Bliss): Okay, this was the highlight. Or at least, it should have been. Crystal clear water, white sand beaches, snorkeling… pure paradise. Until I discovered I'm terrified of deep water. Spent most of the time clinging to the side of the boat, feeling like a complete idiot.
  • 12:00 - Lunch on the Island: Grilled fish, fresh fruit, finally, something I could actually eat without fear. The view was absolutely breathtaking, though.
  • 14:00 - Back to Mabolo: The Post-Traumatic Beach Blues: Showering, and I realized my sunscreen was, gone! The Great Beach Sunscreen Mystery! I can't find it. It's one of my essentials. Where is it?!
  • 16:00 - Spa Day (A Glimmer of Hope): Ah, finally! The spa. A massage, a facial… pure bliss. Needed it after the island trauma. The masseuse was fantastic, somehow working out all the knots in my shoulders. For a few glorious hours, I forgot about everything.
  • 18:00 - The Great Restaurant Debacle (Part 2): Remember how the restaurant was spicy? I decided to try it again. This time, I opted for something "mild." Supposedly. It was still a little too spicy. I swear, my taste buds are rebelling.
  • 20:00 - Bedtime Ritual (with regrets): Early to bed. This time with some sleep aids bought from the hotel store to get me to sleep.

Day 3: City Exploration and the Quest for Authenticity

  • 09:00 - Breakfast Revamp (with a side of self-reflection): Back at the buffet, feeling a bit bolder. Opted for the omelet station. Success! A perfectly cooked omelet. Maybe I'm getting the hang of this.
  • 10:00 - City Tour: Fort San Pedro & Basilica del Santo Niño: The historical sights! Pretty cool, actually. Fort San Pedro was surprisingly charming. The Basilica… well, it was crowded and chaotic, but in a good way. Felt like I was actually experiencing something, not just taking photos.
  • 12:00 - Street Food Adventure (the real experience): Gave the "local" food stalls a shot. I'm talking real local. Got some grilled skewers from a vendor who barely spoke English. They were… interesting. A little bit spicy but in a good way. I may have also eaten a questionable-looking fried thing. Don't ask.
  • 14:00 - Shopping Spree at a Local Market: The prices! Unbelievable. Got some souvenirs, which I desperately needed. The market was a sensory overload – the sights, the smells, the constant chatter… pure chaos. But exhilarating.
  • 16:00 - The Great Sunscreen Retrieval: I realized I had forgotten the sunscreen on the van to the island. The horror! I spent another hour trying to call different shops for the sunscreen I like. Thankfully, the person in the hotel was helpful and I got it!
  • 18:00 - Dinner at a Restaurant Off the Beaten Path: Found a little place with live music and authentic Filipino food. Actually delicious! And not too spicy! Felt like I finally found the real Cebu.
  • 20:00 - Packing (with a sigh): Time to face the fact that my trip is ending tomorrow! Ugh. I'm already dreading the airport!
  • 21:00 - Early night with room service: Ordered some fries for the last time.

Day 4: Departure & The Mabolo Royal Aftermath

  • 07:00 - Final Breakfast (and the Sad Goodbye): One last buffet experience. Managed to get a decent cup of coffee this time. Said goodbye to the hotel staff, who are all lovely.
  • 08:00 - Last-Minute Souvenir Hunt (again): I felt like there was something I forgot so I decided to buy more pasalubong!
  • 10:00 - Airport Chaos (Round Two): The airport was even worse than when I arrived. Long lines, flight delays… the works. Made it through security, somehow with my sanity intact.
  • Departure: Okay, so Mabolo Royal Hotel wasn't perfect. It was a bit chaotic, a bit overwhelming, and I probably made a few embarrassing mistakes along the way. But you know what? I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. It was real. It was raw. It was… well, it was me. And that, my friends, is what makes a trip unforgettable. As I soared over these places, I felt a strange mix of exhaustion and longing. I knew one thing: Mabolo Royal Hotel, I'll be back. Maybe with a smaller suitcase, and a better sense of direction, but definitely back. Ciao, Cebu!
